Monday, March 2nd, marked the 45th anniversary of the merger of the GN, NP, CB&Q, and SP&S to form Burlington Northern and realize the ambitions of the Empire Builder, James J. Hill. As the BN has now been history for almost 20 years, a look back is in order, in the form of some classic pictures from Washington and around the system.
