Three bay enginehouse looks much like the original, which was located several miles away. Not bad for a railroad abandoned in 1933.. http://photos.nerail.org/showpic/?2002081416410324205.jpg:bydate::bydate%3A24 ryarger@rypn.org |

Said to be extracted from the mud at the original enginehouse site, and restored. http://photos.nerail.org/showpic/?2002081409190423344.jpg:bydate::bydate%3A24 ryarger@rypn.org |

Bob, do you have any more information on this restoration? I didn't see it the last time I visited the museum. Is it privately owned? Ted Miles ted_miles@nps.gov |

The piece was found and restored by museum member Lawrence Brown, and does not usually reside at the railroad. The photo was taken this month at the WW&F Ry annual picnic, which qualifies as a "special occasion". Perhaps James P. can elaborate... SJHussar@aol.com |

The story as I know it is that Lawrence Brown found it in the late 30s and restored it. There are pictures of it in the Bridgton yards (Bridgton and Harrison RR) fully restored, with the initials of all the two footers on it. Later, Brownie gave it to the Boothbay Railway Museum. We borrow it from them for our Annual Picnics. Nice pix, Steve. I really like the evening photo. WW&F Railway Museum jcpatten@lincoln.midcoast.com |
