Post subject:  Last Operable Pennsy Steamer

I visited the William Grove Steam Show today and was told by some men working at the railroad site that the last operable Pennsy steamer, (0-6-0 643), was failed by a Pennsylvania state inspector this year and won't be allowed to operate until a new crown sheet is fabricated and installed. They did mention that the renewal of the sheet had been approved by the powers that be in the organization and that fund raising efforts are being begun. Being a born cynic, I feel we've probably seen the last operation of Pennsylvania steam for a long time. I hope to be proven wrong regarding this.
