That is a pretty good short on one of my favorite "critter" companies. I hope that Mr. O'Conner gets his book together and published, I'll be one of the first to order a copy. Thanks very much for posting this! |

Thank you for the kind words. The book is in the works but research is time consuming and I have many irons in the fire. Steve |

I enjoyed reading the write-up about your Whitcomb research. As a former resident of Kirkland, I occasionally visited Rochelle (especially the Railroad Park), but while I lived there I was oblivious to the interesting Whitcomb heritage of the city. (We left that area in 2009.) Yes, I too hope you'll pursue the project till it becomes a book. |

The book is a definite in my bucket list. My attitude towards a purpose in life is to leave behind more than just a tombstone and offspring. I have chosen to leave behind books, starting with the Whitcomb history. The Whitcomb book is really a minor player in my bigger ambition, a book on the rise and decline of manufacturing in Illinois. Here is my Facebook page on that subject: https://www.facebook.com/lostillinoismanufacturing Steve |
