Can someone please provide me with enough drawings of a Lonergan 6" 3 chime whistle to recreate one?

Peter,

I don't have blueprint type drawings, but I own a Lonergan 6" three chime and will be willing to send you a set of rough drawings, dimensions and photos. I can also send you a sound file of the Lonergan being blown on steam if you would like to hear it.

I assume this is in connection with the 470 project. If you have gotten solid information that the whistle used on 470 was a Lonergan, great, and I'll be glad to help. However, from looking at the photos of the locomotive in service, I'm convinced that the bell on that whistle is a Hancock short bell three chime. It may be sitting on a Boston & Maine bowl or something other than a Hancock bowl, but from the available photos, it sure looks like a Hancock bell.

We'd love to get the pictures and sketches from your whistle just the same. You can either email them to Peter or send them to newenglandsteamcorp@gmail.com .
