Post subject: | Journaltex alternative? |
I found out this week while looking to buy more, that Journaltex is only available in 55 gallon drums. There is some possibiliity of supplying it again in 5 gal. pails, but nothing now. A drum is too much money laying around for the amount we use a year. A couple of questions; 1. Is there an alternative to [Texaco] Journaltex HD 57 that anybody uses? 2. What has been your experience with it? Thanks, Ray Connecticut Antique Machinery Association |

Try a dealer handling Citgo products. Citgo Railroad Car Journal Oil No. 9 meets AAR spec M-963-84 for "All-Year Journal Box Lub. Oil". In Connecticut, call Jim Levassur at G.H.Berlin Oil Co. at 800-426-7754. If you only need 5 gallons, bring a pail down to Waterville Yard and I'll "fill'er up" for you for a "slight fee". Howard, Thank you for the info and offer. I'll give G.H. Berlin a call tomorrow. I got the 5 gal. pail of Journaltex from them in '99. Ray |
