The sponsors of this event were kind enough to ask me to do my strolling violin schtick during the cocktail hour. Since I also have a private historic restoration project, Coronet Phosphate Porter #6, I agreed to waive my usual performance fee if they would let me put a picture of my locomotive in my violin case and accept tips. We decided that there would be no conflict of interest because I am not able to offer donors a tax write off.

If any of you in Colorado can make it this coming Saturday, it would be great to meet you in person, and your interest will be most welcome. I'm sorry if this is kind of late notice, as they will have to turn in their count to the caterer tomorrow.

I do not know if this experiment will turn out to be productive or not, but it seems to have possibilities. And, like my suggestion for groups to take advantage of bilingual members, I don't know if my idea could be adjusted to help other groups or projects, or not. But it would seem like it might have possibilities. If you don't have a strolling violinist available, accordian or guitar could work just as good.

Well, best of luck with that Sammy. Here's hoping for some well-heeled & well lubricated gentry to fill your tip jar.
