I'm planning on being in California/Nevada roughly between Oct 9 and 21, hopefully to visit museums I've never seen yet. I hope to visit Sacramento, Jamestown, Tuolumne, Portola, Carson City (probably on Sun. Oct 20, as they plan a steam-up), Virginia City, and maybe Laws. On my visit last year, I was given splendid hospitality from folks in the Bay Area, and I wonder if any readers might help me out again with some "behind the scenes" tours of the museums listed above? Thanks. ryarger@rypn.org |

Be sure to visit Niles Canyon Railway, Quincy #2 will be running 1st and 3rd weekend in October. Also at Jamestown the shay #2 should be running or maybe the #28. Sacramento should have Granite Rock )0-6-0T running. Good luck, enjoy the trip J Kruger > I'm planning on being in California/Nevada > roughly between Oct 9 and 21, hopefully to > visit museums I've never seen yet. Bob, I'll second that! I rode the steam powered train a couple of weeks ago and it is a great ride. Contact me if you will be in San Francisco. Ted Miles ted_miles@nps.gov |
