On Phillipsburg Railroad Historians' website I found a section called "Captive Caboose Locations of Pennsylvania". It stated that there is a Reading NMn Caboose in Bally, Pennsylvania. I've lived in Boyertown my entire life however, I'm only 14 but I've had plenty of time to overhear and have conversations with the old timers that will talk about almost anything that is on rails and never, being less than 15 minutes away from the supposed location of this caboose, have these avid Reading fans known anything about a Reading caboose in the general area, other than the one in Vera Cruz. Is there anyone out there that can attest to this, or better, tell about the condition that it is in or have pictures? The link can be found here: http://www.prrh.org/equipment/PA_cabooses.html |

The list says "Henry Kehs Estate" A quick bit of googling for "Heny Kehs Bally" brings up this link: http://www.obitsforlife.com/obituary/17 ... -Henry.php Quote: He was an avid train collector including his Red Reading Railroad Caboose... So, it did exist, and still may. The likely reason your train pals don't talk about it is that it's in this gentleman's backyard (or was in 2010) rather than on display someplace or in operation. |

Hello! The caboose does still exist. I had contact with the estate at one point but their number has since changed. Mr. 2124 have you volunteered on the Colebrookdale yet? We'd love to have you! Preston Cso CRPT |
