This past week I was at Resica Falls Scout Reservation in near Marshalls Creek, PA. Today, on the way home, I noticed what appeared to be a DL&W style depot (?) with a defined possible track bed. Upon returning I consulted my maps and sure enough the Delaware Valley Railroad used to run through that area. Because the map was strictly Reading, it only listed terminal stations of other rail lines. Did the Delaware Valley Railroad have a station there, if so does it still stand?

Yes, you did see the Delaware Valley's Marshalls Creek station. It and the block house used as their engine house in East Stroudsburg are the only structures still standing from the DV. The line was abandoned and track removed in 1938. As of two weeks ago it was still standing, vacant as the garden shop last using it went out of business a few years ago.

Interestingly it appears their last locomotive, DV 2861 may still exist. Purchased 4/28, Plymouth gas engine, 25 ton. Sold 1938 to Landisville, RR, resold to United Electric Coal in Illinois in the 1980's - not sure what happened after that.

The second link has no track record of it after this, nor does it say it was scrapped. This implies it is still at United Electric Coal.
