According to a report posted on Facebook, PATH car 735 which was underneath the New York World Trade Center during the 9-11-01 attack, will be placed on display at the Shoreline Trolley Museum in East Haven CT on Thursday, Aug. 6 at 11.15 AM.

The report came from the East Haven Patch news site, and perhaps someone closer to the scene can fill in the details.

That is good to hear, although I think it should be 745. Back around 2010 I had visited Hanger 17 at JFK where the remains of the WTC were stored in a failed effort to find a home for one or both of the PATH cars here in NJ. The story of their removal, and the flooded under ground world they sat in for a period of time, is fascinating. When I saw them, the cars were just as they had been removed, complete with posters and advertisements of the time still on the walls of the cars. I wonder if such elements of the artifact were removed for the 911 museum. Key was indoor storage of the cars, again to preserve the fabric of the day, which would have been a challenge here in NJ. Although both cars had been covered in, or filled with, dust, rock and dirt, they had been thoroughly cleaned of debris at some point. Walking through the hanger and seeing the mangled steel of the building was something I’ll never forget. Talking to those behind saving all of this was very interesting as well. A tremendous effort. A whole train was left behind in the station, not just 2 cars, so some got damaged more and in different ways than others. The press release implies that the interiors have not been stripped of 2001 artifacts.
