Post subject:  Steamlocomotive.com Now Has New Zealand

Just uploaded tonight:
http://www.steamlocomotive.com/locobase ... ew_Zealand

It includes all of the operational steam locomotives in New Zealand of which I am aware. There could easily be others, and if anyone happens no of additional ones, all you have to do is e-mail Wes Barris, the site admin. Make sure to include an adequate source, please.

I sent Wes an update to his list, there are many more engines both restored and undergoing restoration. I lived in New Zealand in 1979-80, and sought out many of the survivors including many of the K class 4-8-4 engines, J class 4-8-2s and Ab class 4-6-2s.
New Zealanders are fanatical steam lovers and their preservation rates would astonish most North Americans.
Here is a more complete list of preserved NZR engines
