Post subject: | Railfan events coming up at Bluegrass Railroad Museum |
For those in, around, near, or looking for a journey, we have a couple of railfan themed events coming up in Sept. and Oct. at the Bluegrass Railroad Museum in Versailles, KY. Sept. 5-7 we will host once again "Leviathan". Last year she put on a fantastic show working hard on our rolling track profile while singlehandedly powering eastbound trips on the museums former Southern LL branch trackage. As last year patrons will be provided a private runby on each trip to be able to enjoy riding behind, and seeing "Leviathan" from trackside. Her visit coincides with our annual Civil War Weekend activities. The Lincoln Funeral Car will also be open for display for the weekend along with "Leviathan" http://bluegrassrailroad.com/#/lincoln- ... 4589947559 for more info on the "Leviathan" weekend. The museum has also scheduled it's first ever photo freight day/night session. We do need to sell a minimum of 30 tickets by Sept. 11 2015 for this event to remain on the event schedule. The day will consist of an eastbound morning freight powered by N&W GP9 675, regular midday passenger excursion, afternoon westbound freight powered by recently repainted ICG GP8 7738, and a night photo session with various museum equipment in the Versailles yard. Unique and first ever opportunity to burn some pixels (or expose some frames for the classic crowd) with either of these locomotives in a freight consist since leaving regular service. http://bluegrassrailroad.com/#/freight- ... 4589987104 for info and advance ticket sales for this event. Of course any questions about any of these events or others at the museum will be quickly answered so don't be afraid to ask! Joe Nugent Bluegrass Railroad Museum |
