As of 2013 the count of Silverliner 2s and 3s was two 2s and one 3. One 2 and one 3 was still in the possession of SEPTA and one 2 was at an unnamed museum. Is this still the case?

#238 and a Budd car I think is 9001 are sitting behind Wayne Electric Shop. The Budd car is complete accept for number boards.
The 238 is missing allot of under car equipment, the story I heard is it's still around because it's involved in a lawsuit, can't do anything with it until the lawyers get their $$$.
The Budd car is going to a museum.

For the record they are both Budd cars, and wasn't 266 still sitting around somewhere?

266 left the property in November of 2013.

Where to, the scrapyard in Newark where the rest of them went to die, or a museum/ private owner?

To the scrap yard. It appears that the 9001 will be the only preserved example of either class of car preserved.

Why, is 238 that rough that nothing can be done?

238 was put out of service after it caught fire. The word is that it's behing held until all litigation regarding the incident is done.

Wasn't 238 on wire train service? What is now, a Silverliner 4?

The car in the pics on fire was cut in half and hauled out of Overbrook shop last winter on 2 trucks, charred seats and everything.
#238 still has the 80's Airport line interior.

The wire train cars were both purchased from New Jersey Transit. The car that looks like a IV is actually an Arrow II which I believe is the last of its kind. http://www.trainweb.org/phillynrhs/RPOTW/20050925.CRW_5209_RJ.jpg If you notice it has no roof hump and the center doors present.

The other car SEPTA just recently picked up is a Comet Ib which was a conversion from a powered car to a coach. http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=227459

As for 238 I'm almost certain that was the one that was involved in the fire. If it isn't SEPTA must have it earmarked for something else because all of the other cars are gone. Nothing but IVs and Vs now and the 9001 which I'm surprised didn't hitch a ride with the AEM7 that just went out to Strasburg this past month.

When did the car catch fire? If it was pre-2012, the fire didn't involve 238 because 238 was on the Farewell trips of 2012 and I don't think it would be likely there was a fire after that because the 9001, 266, and 238 were the last three at the time of the fan trip. 238 may still be gone but I doubt due to fire.

235 and 9001 were the last two active cars. I took this picture the previous day they were retired. It was running as a single car. On their last day, both cars were running. It was bittersweet watching them pull in for the last time. They were ending their storied careers but were both sent off by a pretty large crowd of people. I wish I had a video camera that night. I only had my cell phone with me with captured a blurry video of them pulling out.
