I saw reporting marks HRS 729 on the side. Anyone know what that would mean? what was the original road?

HRS stands for Hollidaysburg & Roaring Spring, the Everett RR operation south out of Hollidaysburg/Duncansville to Sproul and Curry.

The moving company official, a card-carrying railfan, told me the # was 728 and it was a former PRR-registered Pullman. I'm sure someone from either Hollidaysburg or Boyertown will chime in shortly.

I was there for the unloading and can verify the number of the car...

Pullman built 1924 Plan 3585 Lot 4770 10-1-2 sleeping car, assigned to the PRR and carried the name Lake Girard. Later PRR 8663 then PRR 493256 (MW), carried same marks/number to Conrail; sold to Keystone Restoration & Preservation, Inc., date unknown, to Hollidaysburg & Roaring Spring Railroad (HRS) 3/5/1997. PRR gutted the car out for MW use and we converted to open car in 2006; assigned number 729 because I needed the car done in time for a train on July 29th that year. We stripped the car down within the last year for more extensive repairs but have elected to concentrate on four axle equipment which rendered this one surplus. My thanks to Nathaniel Guest and the Colebrookdale Railroad for taking this project on. Incidentally the Hollidaysburg & Roaring Spring Railroad has since been merged into the Everett Railroad and the HRS marks retired.

The Colebrookdale does seem to like 6 axle heavyweights considering all 3 of their preexisting coaches have six axles.

I'm real interested in seeing that S100 pull those 3 heavyweights in the future

Labour Day weekend I visited the Station Inn in Cresson PA, and during my travels that weekend I took the following pictures. Seeing this discussion the car looked familiar and looking through the few picture I have taken I found the following.

Also I have 2 photos of the wood/steel plated B&O business car # 912 that was coupled to the 729. What has happened to it?

The Lake Girard ("Surviving Pullman" line item #134) is 1 of 4 cars from Lot #4770 which are known to be extant. The other 3 cars are:

374. Hidden Lake, built for the Oriental Limited, sold at 12/31/1948 divestiture to Erie and leased to Pullman, withdrawn from lease in October 1949 and subsequently rebuilt to business car #6, later renumbered #4. The #4 was later sold (after the EL merger?) to the "Hoboken Shore RR", and was later (when??) acquired by the Cooperstown & Charlotte Valley. The car is now located in Midland Park, NJ (sold when??).

198. Lake Mitchell, sold 12/31/48 to PRR #8667, withdrawn from lease in June 1962 and sold/donated to the National RR Museum in Green Bay. At some later date*, this car was renamed by the museum to Frank W. Ladky, but it has since been returned to the original Pullman name.

*Photos taken in the 1970's show the name Frank W. Ladky.

152. Lake Terrell, retained after 12/31/48 until sold in June 1967 to Ruben Darby's Darby Wood Products. It was later (when??) acquired by the Lake Shore RHS (North East, PA), and was 1 of several Pullman heavyweights that Lake Shore RHS entered into an agreement with Iowa Pacific to lease out on a long-term basis.
