| Post subject: | oil burner firebox door question |
I was looking at the Dequency T&NO 124 yesterday and I have a question about an oil burner's firebox door. Why do some firebox doors slant outwards with no bottom that lines up with a passage thru the floor, while others are "oven" doors with just the sand hole. Is it just differences in design of the firebox? Im assuming this passage is the for the firebox air and comes from the damper. thanks Alan adofmsu@aol.com |

The door you described is one designed to allow secondary air of combustion in through the bottem opening. Others do not have this as the secondary air is allowed to enter in some other fashion. Everyone did it a different way. |
