diesels, which were once used to haul sugar cane trains in Hawaii until the late 1950s, can be found at Cuban sugar mills.
They were 30-in.gauge diesels from the Hawaiian sugar cane Lihue RR I know the following six were sent.
Number Name Wheel config Manu. S/N Date Built Diposition
No. 618 Lei Kikania B 10 ton Whitcomb 60001 1/1936 Cuba 1959/60
No. 621 We Malakay B-B Atlas 2067 1938 Cuba 1959/60
No. 622 Lei Mokihana B-B 30 ton GE 28515 9/1946 Cuba 1959/60
No. 623 Lei Ilima B-B 30 ton GE 28516 9/1946 Cuba 1959/60
No. 624 Lei Loke B-B 30 ton GE 28517 9/1946 Cuba 1959/60
No. 625 Lei Lehua B-B 30 ton GE 29833 9/1946 Cuba 1959/60
Does anyone know which Cuban sugar mills got which diesels, when, and if they were renumbered.
