Does anyone know what ever happened to Burlington shovelnose 9903? I recently read an article on how it changed ownership several times since 1966 until finally becoming the property of a Kansas City bank and was being stored somewhere in Kansas City.<br>

I believe that it is being restored in Minooka, IL,not far from Kankakee.<br>

The 9903 and train (aka The Mark Twain Zephyr) is being restored at Relco Locomotive in Minooka Illinois. It is owned by a Ronald Lorenzini -- there has been some speculation as to what is going to happen once the restoration is completed, but I can't say for sure what that might be.<p>Along with the 9903/MTZ is CB&Q car #500, named the Effie Dean. The car's claim to fame is that it is the 'extra' car from the Pioneer Zephyr articulated train set.<p>Regards,<br>Burlington John<br>

In July of 1998, I stopped in at Relco and asked<br>for permission to photograph their two ex-EJ&E<br>cabooses there at Minooka (I admit it; I am a<br>caboose nut!) A gentleman allowed me on the prop-<br>erty to take my pictures and told me that the<br>Mark Twain Zephyr (#9903) was going to be fitted<br>with a "new" power plant and that Relco would be<br>a 50% owner. They were also going to do interior<br>restoration on the cars and then would be looking<br>for "some place to run it". <br> For what its worth.<br>
