I have a Farimont Series E Class 2 Section car. It is very historical being from the the now defunct Virginia City and Truckee Railroad. It has a one cylinder Fairmont horizontal engine and is belt driven. Engine starts with crank and cranking is used to change car direction also(engine will run in either direction). It is painted red and still has V&T RY in white stencilled letters on side boards. It is standard gauge and measures 86" x 39" x 64". It is complete but needs restoration. Asking price is $5000.00. Location is Fresno, Ca. I will send pictures for interested buyers.

Steve: I would hope that you have contacted both the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City and the current re-incarnation of the Virginia & Truckee Railroad in Virginia City to give them "first crack" to meet your price on this historic piece of Nevada railroad history.

and mine has a rebuilt engine w/ less than 3 hours on it! It might take me a while to dig out the generator, it's here somewhere. . . . Car is at Portola. I'd probably even throw in the trailer car, though it's holding spare Model T parts right now.
