At last week's Boyertown Redevelopment Authority meeting, Nathaniel Guest, executive director of the trust, said that if part of Third Street can't be closed, the railroad's operations would have to be based in Pottstown. If that occurs, the passengers would have to board the train in Pottstown.

It's encouraging to see the obvious support that the Rail operation has within the local community from that article.

Does the Railroad have ownership of the whole area that was the former yard, up to and including the loading dock and crane?
It didn't appear to be used for anything else when I passed through Boyertown (and visited the Museum of Transportation) in September 2014.

As far as I know, the entire railroad is owned by Berks County at this point. I believe that there is currently a lease with the possibility of purchase, and yes, the yard is part of the property. The railroad owns all the equipment with the exeption of GP10 (formerly GP9) #7580 which is leased from the Clinton Terminal Railroad. I don't speak officially for the CRR, nor am I involved. For official information I would reccommend asking Mr. Guest or Mr. McEvoy.
