Is it just me or does anyone else find it annoying (as in PIA) to read several msg in a post only to discover they are YEARS OLD?

Would it acceptable to start a NEW thread and in the first msg state that you are resurrecting something years old and link to that? Gives people the chance to read only what they want to read and/or at least be aware most megs are years old. And, yes, I know all msg. are dated but does everyone automatically check the date? I sure don't.

I check dates when ever I open a thread. Start at the last page and check the date sometimes I read the whole thing to refresh my old mind.

What's objectionable - and not only in those instances - are posts added with nothing to contribute in their content. Sometimes I add some just to fight back......

I'm on a bunch of different forums for different interests and they are all different. Some jump on you for dragging up zombie threads from the dead while others don't want you to start a new thread when there are a bunch on there with the same info - they want you to use the search feature.
I don't see a problem dragging up an old thread when you state it in your reply. Maybe new info came up or new ways to do something, better technique, ect.
