I too feel the loss,I'm going through Steamcentral. withdrawals myself, early this summer I kept looking for them to return but I stopped holding my breath and I think alot of US have gotten to that point! We'll have to find our info. somewhere else....

I have heard second hand that John Craft's residence was struck by lightning. I don't think anybody was hurt, or there was any serious damage to the house, but it fried Steam Central. That is, all his computers and hard drives were destroyed.

Again, this is second hand, I would prefer John told us what was going on himself, but he's apparently still recouping. As far as I know he'll be back.

Yes and no.

We did take a lightning hit on our phone lines in May - lost two computers, router, DSL modem, etc., but luckily the hard drives survived and are now transplanted in new computers. (And we have a wireless modem for use in the increasingly rare lightning storms - goodness, what a drought we're having.)

And while the timing is coincidental, one has nothing to do with the other. It's simply been an incredibly busy few months, and other things have had higher priority. I've missed writing the updates as much as some of you have missed reading them - it's been an eventful summer, as you all know.

The news section will be updated, I'm just not sure when. I suspect it will be before the end of the month - Danah and I hope to be trackside for 1522's excursions, and I don't particularly want to be tarred and feathered in rural Missouri . . .
