Brother Rock Island Lines, you have made a grouchy old man very, very happy !!! She looks like she could be a Tecate girl, no less !!! Mucho Bueno Sabor INDEED !!! Sabrosa tambien... Seriously, if you're in the hat and T shirt business, shoot me a PM, please. And if you're NOT, maybe you should consider it !!! If that CIP #6 has a friend in the world, they must also be interested in your previous design, bet it wouldn't be too hard to find somebody who'd be interested in your next design, either. Mil Gracias Ferrocompanero, AMISTAD ANTE TODO, Team Porter #6 |

Mil Gracias Ferrocompanero, AMISTAD ANTE TODO, Team Porter #6 Dear Mr. King, You are most welcome! Nope, I'm not in the t-shirt or graphics business. I'm just a lowly paper pusher in an engineering office. I created those graphics in MS Paint with one hand while eating pizza with the other. Didn't take all that long, and it was fun. Well I wish you the best with the Porter restoration. You know I think these little switchers are the future of cost-effective steam programs. You and your locomotive get to be part of that, which is GREAT! I really can't wait to see it run. You probably have the best retirement plan I've ever heard of. Take care and keep posting. Your good-natured posts are always enjoyable reading. (No rubber fuel lines to burn through - ha!) |

Here's another order! With part of the proceeds going to the "King Locomotive Works" toward the restoration of number 6. Lets get this done! Les |

I 4th the comment about purchasing a t-shirt to help support the #6! Where do I send my order and donation? As a lurker here, I follow with extreme interest and joy in seeing #6 saved and eventually restored. I do hope that a shirt will become available in the future! Best of luck Sammy. Viva C.P. 6! |

Sammy, Rick Rowlands, and other Porter people. What do you think of jointly putting out individual shirts of our locomotives and offer a single shirt with all of them featured on the front? Allocate funds from the family picture shirt that are split among projects? |

STEAM - Steam Tank Engines Association of Mechanics. Let's start that organization - perhaps as a subset of ATRRM - and jointly work on such items of interest as appropriate size real locomotive style injectors and other truly important items like T shirts....... maybe we need to set a top weight limit of perhaps 60 tons to qualify. there should be no bottom limit. |

Especially if Preston's idea comes into fruition, I'd buy one for the 5002 and/or the three steamers on one shirt. |

What started out as rock island lines' very clever homage to Mr. King and his Lokie seems to be morphing into a serious business proposition. Two suggestions from an intellectual property standpoint: 1. The phrase "Mucho Bueno Sabor" appears to be the trademark of a restaurant chain based in Arizona. Since the business of Mr. King and the other Porter owners/restorers/operators is in no way related to the restaurant business (unless they are fans of firebox cooking), there is no likelihood of confusion and so it should be OK to use the phrase. 2. The phrase on the back might be shortened to "Making the world a better placeā¦one saddletanker at a time." This I would Trademark in case your organization of Porter owners flourishes to dominate the rail preservation field. Seriously, when can I get my shirt? Viva Coronet Phosphate No. 6 and Mr. King! |

Well yeah, I'd rather have a Glover given my history. They were Porter's ugly hillbilly cousins anyhow. I'm currently involved with a Vulcan and they built a lot of them. |

If this is a serious venture, I highly recommend Queensboro for your shirt/apparel needs. I've gotten my shirts/hats from them and the quality is very good, for a very affordable price (especially when ordering more than one item). Plus you can also create your own online store with your designs for people to use on an order. http://www.queensboro.com/ref/ESONRECCCOE |
