Greetings:
Robert E. McMillan, former President of the Chicago & Western Indiana Railroad died October 9, 2015 at Fairfax, Vermont.
It was Bob who allowed Richard Jensen to bring his collection of steam locomotives and parts to the C&WI's 49th St. roundhouse c.1963.
Bob came from a railroad family and loved steam locomotives.
One of my best memories of him were on the day that 5629 made test runs prior to trips to South Bend in 1966.
Bob ran 5629 back and forth several times on a couple of miles of track that he had taken out of service for the tests. He was grinning and said that it was the most fun he had had in years.
Later, Bob arranged for the donation of the last stock car on the Santa Fe to Illinois Railway Museum.

The same Bob McMillan who (as President of the railroad) hosted NKP 765 on the TP&W in 1980?

I believe he was also responsible for donating TP&W Alco RS11 #400 to IRM
