I have compiled a brief history of UP's Buda inspection cars, which were enclosed inspection cars used by managers and supervisors. The page includes links to photos, and a Buda catalog from 1930.

Mark Amfahr's research using UP dispatcher sheets is mentioned as he discussed UP B-10 making the run from Green River to Ogden in 1956, in just six hours.

Gordon McCulloch wrote of Jim Ehernberger's suggestion that the Buda cars on UP were numbered as:

-- UP B-1 to B-19 (?)
-- OSL B-20 to B-29 (?)
-- OWRR&N B-30 to B-39 (?)
-- LA&SL B-40 to B-49 (?)

I doubt that all the numbers were used, but existing information and photos show that the number series above are likely correct. We just don't know how many cars there were in total.
