We have had a lot of conversations on sunken locomotives. What about sunken cranes. Several steam shovels have been salvaged from flooded quarries. There are at least three wreckers supposed to be in the sea. Two were reportedly torpedoed on the way to Russia after December 1941. http://members.trainweb.com/bedt/indloco/amtk16000.html A third was reported lost overboard or dumped off of an aircraft carrier near Australia after WWII. Any others? |

John: There is the OHIO that fell of the dam into the Mississippi River ??? Might have been in Iowa. It's mate was sold at auction several years ago. One of the OHIO "EA" cranes fell into the Cuyahoga River in Cleveland years ago, but I think it was "fished" out. Kevin K |
