Does anyone know if Conway Scenic's steamer #7470 is operating this year? I've heard a rumor that its sidelined for FRA required work this season but I can't confirm it. |

As I undertsand, she has a verbal OK from the FRA, but the paperwork has not been signed. Until there is a written sign-off from the FRA, she will not be reassembled. Its disassembled? I couldn't even confirm it was under repair. |

Its disassembled? I couldn't even confirm it was under repair. It always makes me nervous when a steamer is taken apart, just too many lying around in pieces. |

While passing through North Conway a few weeks ago I saw that the jacketing was off the boiler. I had been wondering if she would be ready in time to pull the "notch train" this year... SJHussar@aol.com |
