Hey guys at Northwest Railway Museum. When I try to view your site, trainmuseum.org, I get a banner saying "403: Access Forbidden" and "your location (DK) has been blacklisted".

Not a very friendly invitation to us NATO partners.

Appears to work OK from the UK.............

(Perhaps it's getting DK confused with DPRK !)

Working OK from Ontario on Firefox 44.02. What on Earth has Denmark done to upset them!

Not a fluke:

403: Access Forbidden
Your location (PH) has been blacklisted.

Guessing it's an over-enthusiastic response to spam and/or hacking attempts.

The problem with those things is that you end up blocking legitimate users, while the hackers simply use a proxy server. It's a no-win situation.

I'll see what we can arrange for Denmark! Most EU countries are supposed to be admitted, but the ip filters are imperfect.

Ip filtering is pretty much the new reality for web hosting. We were receiving thousands of brute force attacks per day, which was actually preventing access for everyone. You think you have it covered when you block Romania, Russia, China, Brazil, and Nigeria. Then another country pops up. Easier to just pick a list of countries that are least likely to tolerate that type of crime.

Denmark is now a trusted visitor. Steve should be able to view all the pages on this site, but he may not be able to purchase advance tickets due to regional ip blocking used by the ecommerce application. Sorry!

Don't miss the blog pages hosted by Google: http://www.trainmuseum.blogspot.com

Yes it works now.

Look out your window and see if the Vikings are coming.

p.s. when I view the blogspot, it switches to a Danish hosted site and all the menus are in Danish.

Vikings arrived about 125 years ago and have settled throughout the region. Apparently, many of them have an obsession with Alaskan crab fishing, but a few are into railroad history and actively volunteer at the Northwest Railway Museum. You'd be welcome too - Iceland Air flies into Seattle!
