Anyone know of a supply/vendor of 660 bronze. I am looking for Bronze bushing stock with an OD of 15"

Poured cast, extrusion cast or spin cast?

If you're making valve rings Bob, make sure you don't go with the poured cast.

This is a good place for centrifugal castings.

Matt's suggestion sounds like a good one in your part of the country Bob.

Doyle had some cast for the '49's valve rings (12"), but I don't remember whether it came from a local outfit. He may be able to tell you, if he can still remember after all the Bondo exposure.

Post subject:  Re: Techni-Cast & H-S Gun Metal

The Challenger has been running since 2000 with Techni-Cast C90500 centrifugal cast, fine grain structure for the bronze and CL30 (A-48-30) for the iron, also centrifugal cast. This was the closest match found to the HUNT-SPILLER Gun Metal Bronze and Gun Iron cast iron ring material.
Anybody want to guess where the phrases "Gun Metal" and "Gun Iron" came from?
PS Techni-Cast makes the special mix formulas for a very famous Texas valve and piston ring manufacturer.

I always use Metal Tek ( formerly Southern Centrifugal) in Tennesse.

Good Luck.
