While reading the local paper (Wasatch Wave) I found some good news for the HVRR and quite exciting news. (For those that can't read the clipping) "Wasatch County Council hears long range plans for Heber Valley Historic Railroad" By Laurie B Wynn The Wasatch County Council met for a work meeting Wendsday, February 10 at the Wasatch County Administration Building Mark Nelson(executive director) , from the Heber Valley Railroad presented an update report to the Council. Nelson presented some desired long range updates for the railroad property, as well as the Vivian Park stop in Provo Canyon. Neslon said discussion is taking place between the State, Utah County and the railroad concerning the placement of a turntable potentially at Vivian Park to help turn the train's engine around. Nelson also said the railroad would eventually like to put a turntable and a roundhouse in at the depot the round house could be a multi use facility as a railroad museum and a large place where dinners could be served. "This is a long range goal, but we feel the community would benefit from the upgrades," said Nelson nelson also stated the railroad expects the #618 steam engine is scheduled to be back online in September. Being an Employee of the railway this excites me and Im very happy for the railroad. Thanks, To Mark and to all of those who are helping make this possible! Mason Giles McAllister
