Dear Friends, My favorite preservation railroad, the W&W, is celebrating its 50th birthday this year. There are many great events taking place as part of this celebration. The one I am looking forward to the most if the W&W reunion on May 29th. Our beloved little railroad is amazing and there are many important features. Without sounding cliche', the most important facet is the people who have put forth an amazing effort to sustain this amazing organization all of these years. Please consider joining us for one of our events to make a half-century of railroad preservation and the people who have made it happen. Please see the attached flyer. Thank you,

The "rare mileage" dinner train will traverse the section of Railroad between the run around in Hockessin, to Valley Road - a section of the Railroad that has not seen revenue heavy rail equipment since the early 1980's. Valley Road is where the B&O finally trunicated the branch to after the demise of the Braod Run Trestle in the 40's and the removal of stored freight cars that resided from Hockessin on over to the state line until the 1950s. |
