They just posted a video update on their facebook page, I know this is of interest here, so I post a link to share.. There is no commentary in the video, but it shows on going work.

N.C. Transportation Museum

Work continues on the restoration of the Texas locomotive. The Texas won the Civil War's Great Locomotive Chase, overtaking the General and ending a raid by Union forces.

Today, she's in the Back Shop at the N.C. Transportation Museum, partially disassembled and awaiting more work. The tender, in the meantime, is outside receiving a "soda blasting," which is a less abrasive way to remove old paint.

The cosmetic restoration of the Texas will continue, and late this year, she is expected to roll back home to the Atlanta History Center.
