There are a few websites that have been put together with our equipment, however try http://www.yourrailwaypictues.com/HeritagePark/ Although some of the pictures are older, it gives a pretty good outline of what our collection is comprised of. We have 2 of the USRA 0-6-0 switchers (4012 & 4076) and I run them on a 45 day cycle throughout the summer season. Heritage Park is the ONLY place you will see double headed steam locomotives in Canada, at our annual Railway Days event at the end of September. On average we run on a 120 day schedule, 7 days a week from Labor Day to September long weekend, then weekends only until mid-October. We put on on a total of close to +/- 4200 miles a year, so winter maintenance is a must to say the least. I have been the Chief Engineer/CMO for Heritage Park since 2001 and have not lost 1 day of downtime due to mechanical breakdown. Along with some dedicated volunteers, we have done a major job each year on the locomotives as well as restoring 12 pieces of rolling stock, and coordinating track and trestle work each spring before opening. This past winter I dropped the #1 axle out of 2024 to tighten up the lateral with new hub liners and line the driving boxes. I have re-tubed both boilers, replaced 1 rear tube sheet, rebuilt both air compressors, spring rigging, brake rigging, wheels, bearings, etc..... Lots of work but get lots of enjoyment from being able to do something like this and be part of a fraternity of fellow railroaders.
