Although Friends of the 261 will not be moving 261 down to Illinois, this still presents some exciting possibilities for the future

This is wonderful news, what a great facility. Seems like you can never have too much storage track, but this place sure has some real capacity.

Railfan also featured the story and I found their photo to be interesting. There's very clearly a former turntable pit and roundhouse on site. Wouldn't it be amazing to see that reconstructed at some point in the future?

This acquisition of property could stand to be the Spencer (NCTM) of the midwest.

Given the proximity to Iowa Interstate, presumably this could also offer some opportunities for operation of 261 on IAIS and/or collaboration with the QJs.
