The WW&F Railway Museum received an Allen Portable Pneumatic Riveter as a donation from the Mack Brothers Boiler and Sheet Metal Shop in Syracuse, N.Y. a couple of years ago. Museum volunteers have overhauled the machine over the last couple of weeks, and on Monday, they tested it by riveting the original smokebox onto the original boiler of No. 9. This device is a critical component in the museum's plans to build two new boilers, one for stalwart No. 10 and the other for No. 11, a replication of the original WW&F's No. 7. The museum is raising funds through an on-line fund-raiser found at http://www.fundrazr.com/21campaign Here's a video made by one of the volunteers of the test: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-X64d06D ... =youtu.be# |

Boothbay will be utilizing some of the WW&F's machinery (including this riveter) and volunteers (including some, if not all those pictured in the video.) Contributions large and small are needed to make this a reality. Visit https://fundrazr.com/21campaign for details and to make a donation. |
