Post subject:  Narrow Gauge Coupler Compatibility

Everyone,

I am in need of some information regarding 3/4 size knuckle couplers.

All of our equipment currently has very old, well worn CLIMAX brand couplers. These are long obsolete. We have been in contact with Irwin Car about their Sharon10 type 3/4 couplers. However, they are not familiar with the Climax couplers, which brings me here to RYPN.

Does anyone out there know if the old Climax brand couplers will be compatible with the Sharon design? Are there specific dimensions to watch for when determining whether or not they will work together?

Thank You,
Andrew Dean

They are reverse compatible, so they will couple. They will not share parts, any parts.

If you need knuckles or other parts, the easiest, least expensive method is to find one good part and 3d scan it. So you might have to ask to borrow some other RR's less used part for the scanning process if all your parts are well worn.
