Thanks for the help Allan.
Just thought I'd add that I have the arched stained glass window panels out and in storage. They are very nice mahogany panels that go with the interior woodwork. T.J. Gaffney would be very familiar with what could be done with this car as it would be very similar to the baggage car they did at Port Huron. The car has a steel underframe put in to comply with Ohios wooden car law. In the past I have ridden the car on several of its jaunts and she is a sweet rider. In addition, LSRA has a crane to assist in loading to save money and ease up on the time factor in proper loading. It sure would be worthwhile if a group really interested in preserving this little bit of NKP could get interested.

Mid-Continent and Strasburg do wonders with wooden equipment. Have either been contacted to see if they want to give this old girl a home?

If I know anything about wood car restoration, its because we made enough mistakes for an army before we got it right ;-) Also becuase I asked a LOT of questions and people who had done many more cars than I EVER will helped me out.

Seriously though, the guys we worked with at Design Craftsmen are interested in doing similar kind of work (they must be ill) to our car if your interested in doing a resto on her. It all depends on what you want to do: outdoor display, used her in service, inside storage. Any way you look at it though, restoration ain't cheap, and you better be ready to do maintenance on her on a regular basis, even if she isn't outdoors. "Low-maintenance" and "wood car" are in no way compatible terms.
