Do you have to dig up or treat the prior oil spill at the site?

I have to laugh about removing the existing ballast. We did that on a project at a local port. We pulled up all of the old rock that had traces of oil in, and then put in Asphalt Concrete paving. I got a laugh out of the project manager when I said "OK, so the problem was that the rock didn't have enough oil on it then?"

The actual problem was the potential for the oil to get into groundwater, which apparently isn't an issue with well designed A/C paving.

Just tell them you are returning the oil to the ground from whence it came.

Really nice, and I'm glad to see it.

I'm curious, is this being done in response to regulatory pressure, or is it a voluntary measure?

Hi,

I thought one of the tracks were dual gauge (36"/56.5"). Is the other track dual gauge and might it not be all the way through. Is this where RGS 20 being worked on?
