Hello all, I had the opportunity to visit the Virginia Museum of Transportation (VMT) in Roanoke this past weekend, and I was surprised to see that Seaboard SW9 #2289 is no longer on the property. Upon further inspection, it has been removed from the roster on the museum's website and does not appear in any recent google earth imagery. This locomotive has always been somewhat of an oddball in the collection since it was the only locomotive of CSX (or non-NS) heritage. I was wondering if anyone here had any information as to this locomotive's whereabouts. It would appear to me as though the museum no longer owns the locomotive, so has it been sold, donated, scrapped? What? http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/locopi ... x?id=22540 Thanks in advance, -Andrew |
