Friends of C&TS have applied for $2.64 million from the federal Economic Development Administration to overhaul their locomotives. The whole application can be found at the link below. If you scroll down on the same Friends of C&TS news page, you'll see they have also received other grants for advertising, repairs to locomotive 484, and asbestos removal from engines 483 and 492 (the latter completed in August). http://www.cumbrestoltec.org/news.htm ryarger@rypn.org |

From sentence 1 of the grant application: "This proposal, captioned “C&TSRR Locomotives – Overall Project,” is being submitted jointly by the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic RR Commission, an agency of the states of Colorado and New Mexico, and by the Friends of the C&TSRR,the railroad’s 501(c)(3)museum support group." eledbetter@rypn.org |
