Has anyone else been getting a nearly blank page with the following error message lately? Quote: General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ] Too many connections [1040] An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists. |

Yup, I've seen it a few times today. Most probably the forum is under a "denial of service" attach by spammers. My opinion & worth what you've paid for it. |

I get the message occasionally, but not recently. |

As soon as I posted the above message, I got the dreaded screen - twice! But only in this topic, I was able to read the Fairmount motor car engine topic, and come back here a few minutes later. |

Pops up now and again. Usually takes a quick page reload to normal up. |

I don't have access to the server itself, only the administrative side of the phpBB software. There's nothing in the logs that would indicate what the problem here actually is. I've hosted a number of phpBB instances back in the dark ages when I owned a web hosting/colocation company. I've emailed David with some ideas as to how this might be approached. Typically max connections is set pretty low, and upping the limit and restarting the database server is a long term fix. In any case, it is good that the issue is generally transient. |

Still getting the error. Once on using a standing link for access to the Interchange, then again for acess to a couple threads. Refreshing gets me to the page I'm after. Had this happen a few days ago to. Guessing some sort of malware attack. Michael Seitz Missoula MT |

How ironic that when I click on this forum, I get the exact loading problem that is being complained about. |

Still getting the problem today. One of the UK rail forums has had the same problem/error message come up for short periods within the past year. That seemed to sort itself out after a few days each time........ |
