Does anyone have a military parts manual for a Fairbanks Morris H12-44? We are looking for the FSN number for the roots blower. Randy |

PLA (Pacific Locomotive Association)/ Niles Canyon Railway has an Army H12-44: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejvVSiqI4K0 I know some of those guys check this board from time to time so perhaps they will see this. |

If you haven't already done so, you might try Fairbanks Morse and tell them it's for a 6 cyl. - (608) 364-4411 or 800-356-6955. |

When I was still on active duty, we had a couple of sources, webflis or FEDLOG. Webflis, until very recently was available through ordinary interwebz and if you had a regular part number or NSN, I would be able to help... It would even pull up the civilian part numbers. I just checked it a minute ago, and it is no longer available on non DOD computers. FEDLOG is only available on DOD networks. But if you have any kind of part number, let me know, and I will talk to one of my buddies who is still in and give it a shot. On a side note, once upon a time I was able to look up NSN's for several different locomotive types, along with Beer and cocaine. When you are bored at work you never know what you will find... |

I did that too when I was in the Navy. Always wondered what kind of trouble I would get in if a caboose showed up on the pier... I also used to know the NSN of a horse, pig, and goat. I have access to Fedlog right now... send me some part numbers and I will see what I can do. Or call FM. I had good luck with them when I needed parts for a FM powered standby generator years ago. |

The Navy uses the FM 38ND8-1/8 12 cyl OP engine, and the FM part number for the Blower was 16_501_590. Tried to find a Stock Number, but having problems with my account. |

I don't have a parts list. The tech manual is TM 55-1276-1 Locomotive, Diesel-Electric, 56-1/2-inch Gage, 120/123-ton, 0-4-4-0, 1,200-hp, Fairbanks-Morse Model H12-44. As I stated in an earlier post, you may want to contact Fairbanks Morse. Their CAGE code still lists them as Coltec Industries Inc DBA Fairbanks Morse Engine but it's part of EnPro Industries. It's different from pumps and other groups within the company. LOCOMOTIVE, DIESEL ELECTRIC: Federal Supply Group - 22; Federal Supply Class - 2210; National Item Identification Number - 00-262-0751; PART NUMBER H12-44 As a National Stock Number (NSN), it looks like this: 2210-00-262-0751 There is more than one blower listed under their cage code and each NSN has multiple Part Numbers. The first one is still available in the system and it may or may not be the right one. BLOWER ASSEMBLY, ENG: 28 2815-00-089-4891 Part Numbers: 16500026; 16500037; 16501512; 16600013; 16607812. BLOWER ASSEMBLY, ENG: 28 2815-00-075-0350 Part Numbers: 16606684; C3541A8FBHC. Both NSNs have been around since the 1960s however, only the first Blower NSN is still available in the system. Expect to pay between 16-60k. The H12-44 apparently was manufactured IAW Military Specifications MIL-L-11032 and MIL-L-52731. Fairbanks Morse Engine 701 White Avenue Beloit, WI 53511 1-800-356-6955 Good luck. |
