Post subject: Ohio Central Photo Charter Tickets Available *PIC*
PostPosted: Thu Sep 26, 2002 6:24 pm

Due to a recent rash of cancellations, the Ohio Central Railroad is offering a select few tickets on our October 5-6, 2002 Photo Special. The two-day special will be geared for photographers, professional and amateur.

The two-day Fall Photo Festival will include the following:

- 4-8-4 #6325 will carry her 1940Â’s GTW livery while pulling an 18 car period freight train. Most cars date back to the 1930Â’s, 40Â’s and early 50Â’s including the red caboose.

- #6325 will also team up with our F-units (A-A) and 4-6-2 #1293 to do side-by-side running, doubleheaders and much more. We have a few surprises planned!

- A night photo session will also be included.

- Photographers will be transported from run-by location to run-by location on our climate-controlled first class passenger cars for your comfort.

- Close to 40 run-bys are planned for the two-day Festival of Steam.

The total ticket price for the two-day Fall Photo Festival is $250/person (no one day sales)This includes both days, night photo and first class coach seating. Boxed lunches and BBQ will be extra.

Run-by location, routes and boarding locations will be told only to those purchasing tickets. Once you order your ticket, you will receive your tickets and information on the boarding site. Only 100 photographers will be on the charter, and only a few are being made available.

Like all Ohio Central Photo Charters, steps will be taken to ensure that the paying customer gets the best picture. Photo locations are chosen for their ability to be accessed by rail only!

To order your tickets call toll free 1-866-850-4676 ext 3 and ask for Mary. Or email to jmjohnson@ohiocentral.com Hurry with your order! Less than 10 seats have been made available to the general public due to some recent cancellations.

Post subject: Harry would be proud
PostPosted: Fri Sep 27, 2002 12:54 pm

As many know, the 6325 once pulled a leg of Harry Truman's whistle stop campaign that won him the Presidency in 1948. On some trips, he visited the engine cab, and despite once threatening to mobilize troops to run the railroads during a strike, he apparently found acceptance there. If Harry's looking down (or up as my Republican grandmother felt), I think he'd be proud to see this fine engine running again.
