Post subject:  Restoration of SP 260 in Knoxville Ongoing
A recent post by the Three Rivers Rambler on Facebook shares some progress photos of the restoration of former SP #260 (originally San Antonio & Aransas Pass #60).

The engine is getting an entirely new tender tank, which is nearing completion although not pictured.

With the cab painted in red and with its fancy lettering, I'm wondering if the THREE RIVERS RAMBLER operation is going to be "backdating" the 1922 built Baldwin. Anyone know what the plans are for the 4-4-0?

Well 260 was already dolled up when Three Rivers bought it... Maybe they just haven't repainted the cab yet?

That would be correct...the cab paint is only on one side--the side folks riding the train at Stone Mountain saw when they passed its resting place.

Three Rivers Rambler's shop crew is a top notch bunch. They just finished a fair amount of valve work on 154 over the winter. Had her fired up this wekend. With 203 down for a 1472 and with 60 (260) in the shop they have their hands full! Rambler is not running for spring and summer because of work on the passenger cars so they should have some time to work on the engines. FYI I am not a spokesperson for the railroad or am I affiliated in any way, I am just located near them and have heard these things around.

If you look up photos of #154 and #203 you will see that 3RR typically does very historically accurate restorations. Will be great to see a 4-4-0 in operation there!
