Hi, Does anyone know what ever happened to the Morrisonville, WI historical society's plan to build a replica of the Morrisonville depot? The last I heard was that the original was too far gone to be saved and they took it down, and were at least planning to build a replica near the post office. Thomas Dyrek |

It's the Morrisonville Depot Preservation Society, Inc. that is responsible for the depot. Their website doesn't appear to have been updated since 2013. http://www.morrisonvilledepot.com/home They used to have a table at local RR shows but I haven't seen them for a while. I will be going by there this week and see if any progress has been made. |

I went to Morrisonville today and saw that there have been no changes to the depot project since I was there 2 years ago. Just a sign in an empty field and orange snow fencing surrounding a pile of debris that was the old depot.

Hopefully they'll start working on it sooner or later and that debris can be incorporated into the new structure. Thanks for the update! TD |

I'm not sure that this project will ever be completed. Morrisonville is a tiny unincorporated town just 4 miles north of DeForest which already has a nicely restored depot. The DeForest depot was originally at Windsor, another unincorporated place. A picture of the restored depot is on the DeForest Area Historical Society website. http://www.deforesthistory.org/sites_and_hours.htm |
