Trains Newswire published a story on June 2nd indicating that the locomotive frame and boiler were going to a shop in Alna, Maine (not the WW&F) for assembly:

Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad & Museum Operations Manager Wesley Heinz tells Trains News Wire that No. 7 was loaded onto a flatbed truck in Portland on Friday [June 2, 2017] morning and will arrive at the Maine Locomotive and Machine shop in Alna later today. There, the locomotive will be reunited with its rebuilt boiler. Although there is no established timeline for the locomotive to be complete, officials tell Trains News Wire they hope to have No. 7 back under steam this year.

Wouldn't it be nice if there were a nearby 2-foot gauge line where it could be "broken in" after reassembly?

Roger,
The Maine Machine is close to the WW&F Ry Museum track; but a direct track connection is difficult because of a steep grade difference.

They are only talking about a connection.

Maine Machine did a lot of the work on the Monson #3, which is now up in Phillips for the summer.

But they seem to have a lot of trucks in Maine that can move their tiny locomotives and cars around.
