This weekend, Canadian steam is having a fine get together on the Alberta Prairie Railway - as earlier announced on the Heritage Rail Alliance e-magazine: http://www.atrrm.org/blog/2017/06/steam-doubleheader-for-canadas-150th/ From the Alberta Railway Museum Blog, it seems that the first trip was a fine experience: ![]() More photos and information to be found here: http://www.albertarailwaymuseum.com/latest-news/rails-and-tales-day-one ![]() |

How stunning and appropriate. What a shame, Canada's two largest railroads couldn't see fit to run heritage steam in celebration. These two locomotives are reminiscent of the "end of steam" trips which were popular in the early 60's. |
