According to Trains Magazine, 2 AEM7's arrived in Chicago on the westbound Capitol Limited this morning. Are these destined for preservation? They are Nos. 928 and 942. |

942 was the trailing unit on the "Farewell AEM-7" special last June. |

Elsewhere on the interwebs it has been said the test track has no power for higher speed testing (125mph). That is quite correct as the GP 40-3 is the fastest thing permanently on the property. However I can't think of anything in the pipe line that will require 125mph testing other than the corridor cars if they ever appear. I suspect the states will want to test them with a Charger for PR purposes. |

Informal, but highly credible word on the Trains forum is that yes, the two locomotives will be high-speed test power and not 'victims'. |
