folks,
This tourist railroad was in existence from
1962 until about 1984.

Please tell me who owned it?

A large number of the locomotives and cars went to museums after it was auctioned off in December 1984.

They had 8 wood cars and an unknown number of steel ones; which they ran of the 24 mile Big Bay branch of the Lake Superior & Ispheming Railroad.

Considering that some tourist railroads only lasted two or three years; they did better than most and it was all with steam locomotives as far as I can tell!

As I recall, with the M&HM, it wasn't about how much money they brought in, but rather how much the benefactor was willing to spend each year to keep it running. When the benefactor died, his heirs IMMEDIATELY pulled the plug.

Someone here knows more, I'm sure.
