2921 is moving from a park to the Amtrak station in Modesto, California:

Yes, although it was great that she was saved, her location literally down in a riverbottom locale, served her no good in the decades that she was there.

Better times should be in store for the big 4-8-4.

The article is a bit dated, the locomotive and tender have been moved to the new location. Does anyone know if there are plans to do a cosmetic restoration on it?

I would guess that only the city knows what the maintenance plan will entail at this point.
